Good-Looking Female Anchors Distract Male Viewers

According to researchers at Indiana University, good-looking female news anchors make it difficult for male viewers to actually remember the news. What study? Sorry was too busy looking at the picture! The full story here...

In the study according to MediaBistro.com, researchers prepared two short newscasts that they then showed to participants.  400 participants were shown one of the two newscasts, both of which included the same 24-year-old female anchor.

After viewing the short newscasts, participants were asked to fill out questionnaires, testing their ability to recall the information that the anchor had reported.  The male participants were able to recall significantly more information from the newscast that featured “the unsexualized anchor.”

College guys involved in the study were better able to remember what the reporter was wearing and whether or not she was wearing lipstick than what the actual news was. Figures the study shows men are pigs right?
