Kicking your soda habit could make your kids healthier. University of Iowa researchers found that when people stopped drinking soda and removed it from their homes, their kids drank less soda, too. Not surprised? Just remember this on your next supermarket trip: "The messages parents send their kids with the food and drinks they keep at home have a big impact on their children's behavior," says study author Helena H. Laroche, M.D. and sometimes, those messages last a lifetime. (Men's Health)
The long held view that too much sweet food makes kids hyperactive is nonsense, reveals a recent report. It's all in their parents' minds, say researchers at Indiana University School of Medicine, who point to 12 highly scientific studies that found no connection between sugar and hyperactivity.
