Sometimes you just stumble into the wrong house after a night of drinking — but you don’t usually miss the house by 20 miles.

New York state police say that over the weekend they apprehended a 20-year-old man who had mistakenly passed out in the wrong house after a hard night of drinking. However, after police woke him up, not only had the man passed out in the wrong house, he was about 20 miles away from where he was supposed to be.

According to police, a rural Erie County couple woke up around 4:30 a.m. Saturday morning only to find a strange man snoozing it up face down in the living room. After several unsuccessful attempts to wake the man with an old boot and a couple cups of coffee, they called the police. Good tip — always use an old boot to wake up a drunk. These people were seasoned professionals.

When police arrived, they found the amateur booze hound sacked out on the couple’s couch with no recollection as to how he ended up there. The man was arrested and charged with criminal trespassing and is scheduled to appear in court.

However, it is rumored that since his arrested he has been spotted at a local Radio Shack shopping for a GPS system.
