Friday night, May 25, that little ol’ band from Texas rolled into the East Coast to kick off their ‘Gang of Outlaws Tour’ at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester, N.H. The tour trifecta features headliners ZZ Top in addition to the unique pairing of 3 Doors Down and Gretchen Wilson as show openers.

The sharp-dressed men took to the stage with their signature mic stands front and center, decked out in head-to-toe black with their trademark hats and sunglasses (probably not of the cheap variety either, but who’s to say?).

The band, which arrived in N.H. a few days earlier to rehearse, posted on their Facebook page that they were “looking forward to dusting off some ZZ classics that have not been played live in some time.” For a band that’s been at it for four decades with 14 albums to their credit, that leaves a wide variety of options — but you’ll have to check out a show to find out exactly which rarities they tap into.

But casual fans can rest easy — on Friday night, the trio kept plenty of hits in the mix, including ‘Legs,’ ‘Gimme All Your Lovin’’ and ‘Tush.’

As you wait for the new ZZ Top album that’s been recorded and is in the hands of producer Rick Rubin, you can at least get a live dose of the legendary band as they take the tour across the US. Have a look at the remaining dates for the ‘Gang of Outlaws Tour’ to find out when they’ll be in your neck of the woods.

And in the meantime, be sure to check out our exclusive photos from the opening night above.
