Zach’s Top 5 Favorite Fleetwood Mac Songs [MUSIC]

Ebay.com

When you talk about leaving a lasting impression on rock music, you can't forget about Fleetwood Mac. Formed in the late '60s, the music of Fleetwood Mac is purely unforgettable. And, the songs with Stevie Nicks on lead vocals are just great, in my opinion, of course. But, as a whole, Fleetwood Mac is definitely a one-of-a-kind group contributing to some of the most amazing music ever played. Today, I would like to share with you Top 5 Favorite Fleetwood Mac Songs.

"Little Lies"

Released in 1987, this song is just a great song–a classic Fleetwood Mac song. According to Wikipedia, “As of 2011, it is their final top 10 hit in the U.S.”

"Everywhere"

Also released in 1987, this song, for me, just has a great sound, especially the chorus. It can be found on their “Tango in the Night” album.

"Rhiannon"

Probably one of their most recognizable songs, and a highlight of Stevie Nick's voice. According to Wikipedia, “”Rhiannon” was voted #488 in The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time by Rolling Stone magazine.” Ever wonder the backstory of this song? Here it is: “Nicks discovered Rhiannon through a novel called Triad, by Mary Leader. The novel is about a woman named Branwen, who is possessed by another woman named Rhiannon. There is mention of the Welsh legend of Rhiannon in the novel, but the characters in the novel bear little resemblance to their original Welsh namesakes (both Rhiannon and Branwen are major female characters in the medieval Welsh prose tales of the Mabinogion). Nicks bought the novel in an airport just before a long flight and thought the name was so pretty that she wanted to write something about a girl named Rhiannon. She wrote “Rhiannon” in 1974, three months before joining Fleetwood Mac, and has claimed that it took 10 minutes to write,” according to Wikipedia.

"Landslide"

Here's, again, another unforgettably recognizable Fleetwood Mac song written by Stevie Nicks. It was released in 1975, and it was a close second to the number one spot on my list. This is just such a great song. "The song is one of Fleetwood Mac's most frequently performed songs on tour. Nicks has performed it on every Fleetwood Mac tour since joining the band, with the exception of the Shake the Cage tour, as well as all of her own solo tours from 2005 onwards," according to Wikipedia.

"For Your Love"

And, here it is at number one--"For Your Love". This is a cover of one of my all-time favorite songs, ever. It was originally performed by The Yardbirds. Fleetwood Mac covered this song on their 1973 "Mystery to Me" album. I think it is a wonderfully done cover.
