Zach’s Top 5 Favorite Bob Dylan Songs [MUSIC]

This song was released back in 1970 and makes my list for its poetic lyrics. "If not for you, winter would have no spring. Couldn't hear the robins sing. I I just wouldn't have a clue. Anyway, it wouldn't ring true. If not for you." Definitely a classic love song. This song was also covered by George Harrison. In the video version below, they are singing it together.

Making my list at number four, definitely one of his classics, here's Mr. Tambourine Man. According to Wikipedia, ""Mr. Tambourine Man" has been covered by many artists over the years, including at least 13 versions recorded in 1965 alone."

"A self-conscious protest song, it is often viewed as a reflection of the generation gap and of the political divide marking American culture in the 1960s. Dylan, however, disputed this interpretation in 1964, saying "Those were the only words I could find to separate aliveness from deadness. It had nothing to do with age." A year later, Dylan would say: "I can't really say that adults don't understand young people any more than you can say big fishes don't understand little fishes. I didn't mean "The Times They Are a-Changin'" as a statement... It's a feeling," according to Wikipedia. However you interpret the song, it has great lyrics and the poetry in it is amazing. 

This one was close to being number one, but it made a very close number two rank. This song is undoubtably one of Dylan's best. Released in 1963, it gained recognition as a song of peace and one of anti-war. It's one of my favorites because of how poetic it is. "Yes, how many ears must one man have before he can hear people cry? Yes, how many deaths will it take till he knows that too many people have died? The answer my friend is blowin' in the wind. The answer is blowin' in the wind."

And, here it is, my all time favorite Bob Dylan song--All Along the Watchtower. The harmonica and Dylan's distinctive vocals are the best parts about this song. The song, written by Dylan, gained even more popularity after Jimi Hendrix released his version of the it. Interesting fact about the song, "Over the past 35 years, he [Dylan] has performed it in concert more than any of his other songs. Different versions appear on four of Dylan's live albums," according to Wikipedia.
