Women Are Attracted To Funny Guys, But They Have To Be Good Looking First

Bad news guys… If you think you have a chance of competing with that man’s man across the room by using your wit instead, forget about it. I know, we’ve been taught (by women) that they’ll will take the guy with a sense of humor over the smoking hot one any day, but it looks like that’s not entirely true.

Let’s face it. Most human beings are initially attracted to someone based on their looks or at least on how they carry themselves (personality) which is also physical attraction really. Women really truly do believe that they like funny guys more than hot ones but the truth is, they actually THINK a guy is funny BECAUSE he’s bangin’, not because he really truly IS a comedian! That explains a lot if you’re across the bar going, “She thinks that joke is actually funny? Psshhh!”

A new study (yeah I know, another one, haha) at sciencedirect.com had women listen to audio of men being witty versus watching a video of them doing the same thing and the researchers found that if the women could see the men too, they found them to be funnier, especially if she was in her fling phase of dating. This makes sense to me as in my ecperience, ALL of us are always talking about how hot he or she is and if we’d hop in the sack with said person or not. Guys have gotten the bad rap of being that way but girls are wired the same way, at least all the ones I’ve had occasion to observe. Of course beauty is in the eye of the beholder, there appear to be some common threads.

The problem with the study though in my view is that we weren’t created to operate on a single sense. Dating just like every other experience is a full-on sensory experience and all 5 of our senses (and sometimes a 6th one) come into play when deciding or feeling anything we come into contact with. When someone comes a long that ignites us it’s very rarely a single sense that puts us in that euphoric state and when it’s all 6, look out! It’s rare but it’s possible, so guys just be yourself and your attractiveness will speak for itself when the right girl comes along (assuming you’re not with her yet of course!) and ladies, feel free to chime in on this to let us know what you think about these findings…
