Weight Loss – How Hard Is It Really?
Swimsuit season, just around the corner…finally. Are you ready. I always look forward to swimsuit season for the same reason most guys look forward to it…bikinis! Women work extra hard to look good in a swimsuit, this much is true. Do guys work as hard? Maybe some do. But you don’t necessarily have to. Your host, Chip Douglas is living proof that dieting and weight loss plans do work…if you actually follow them. That seems to be the biggest trick. It’s hard to give up the cheeseburgers from 5 Guys. It’s hard to give up the ice cream cones. It’s hard to pass by Voss’ and smell the chili burgers and pulled pork sandwiches. Nobody said you have to give those up to lose weight. Just don’t have them as often and have 1 cheeseburger instead of 2 or 3. Have a couple of slices of pizza instead of 6. Get the idea? Never in a million years did I think I would ever be counting calories, but here I am doing just that. You know what? I’ve lost 40 lbs since Jan 10th and I haven’t changed what I eat, at all…just the quantity. I dropped the sodas, diet or regular, they are no good for you. I drink 64 ounces of water a day. I even use the Mio drops to flavor it up a bit. I don’t sit on the couch for hours and munch on popcorn, cheezits, doritos, oreos, or whatever else sounds good. The bottom line here is reducing how much I eat, watch my calorie intake for the day. You would be surprised at what you can have in a day, and still lose weight. It is all a matter of breaking the habit. An internet search will give you all kinds of info, but it can also give you all kinds of crap. Here is the one, and only one that I trust. feel free to check it out here. There is a great calorie calculator that gives you a calorie number for most foods. Here is what else I do…walk. Just walk for 30 minutes a day. Not a slow stroll with the dogs, but a nice brisk walk. Get the heart rate up a little bit. The biggest thing is, you have to be patient. You’re not going to lose weight overnight. Once you find yourself making some good progress, you’ll be motivated to keep going! Good luck and see you at the lakes and water parks!
