Walmart Cancelling Destiny Ghost Edition Pre-Orders Due to Limited Supplies

Walmart might rollback its prices, but it also started rolling back on the number of Ghost Edition pre-orders it had for Destiny.

Polygon reports that Walmart has started cancelling its pre-orders for the Ghost Edition of Bungie's Destiny. A user on NeoGAF explained that he was emailed a cancellation notice of his pre-order for the Ghost Edition. The Ghost Edition includes a replica Ghost, a letter from Bungie and various relics from Destiny's Golden Age to use in-game. It is priced at $149.99 and has sold out at most major retailers.

"Unfortunately, due to a supply issue, we will be unable to fulfill [your order]," the email reads. "We would like to offer you a substitution with the Limited Edition, which is a comparable item."

Customers can choose to switch over to the Limited Edition and get refunded back the $50 difference, or they can cancel their orders outright. Unfortunately, this is about all Walmart can do on their end.

Destiny launches on Sept. 9 for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
