Virgin Galactic’s SpaceShipTwo Makes First Powered Flight
If I ever could have one beer with any celebrity of my choosing I’d pick Richard Branson. He’s got to be by far one of the coolest company owners, and one of the coolest rich dude on the face of the planet. I’ve read up a lot on him since the SpaceShip One launches, and now Virgin Galactic’s SpaceShipTwo has made it’s first powered flight.
According to Forbes, at 7.02 am on April 30th, the SpaceShipTwo made space tourism a reality.
The 60-feet long rocket-powered vehicle is the descendent of SpaceShipOne that won the $10 million Ansari X PRIZE in 2004 by breaking governments’ monopoly on space travel (albeit to 300,000 feet not all the way into orbit).”
