A video from a police cruiser dashboard camera filmed back in February of 2011 has recently surfaced and has gone viral on the internet.  The video is alleged to show a Utica Police officer planting evidence, presumably a baggie of drugs, during a traffic stop.

The video, first released and obtained by the Utica Phoenix weekly newspaper, shows what some believe to be the planting of evidence during the February traffic stop. It's about :50 seconds into the video when the alleged plant takes place.

Utica Police have responded by releasing the entire video of the traffic stop.  Utica's Police Chief, Mark Willams, tells WKTV-TV,

the matter was thoroughly investigated.

"He's going into the car with it and that's what he's doing, it's cold out and he's basically separating the drugs from both defendants," says Chief Williams.

Williams also questions why the officers would plant evidence knowing they were being recorded on video.
