'Tis the season for spooky events, and this weekend you can take the kids or grandkids to the 27th annual "Spooktacular" at the Utica Zoo. I remember taking our kids to the Spooktacular at the zoo when they were small, and they loved it.

Here are the details on Utica Zoo's Spooktacular according to uticazoo.org:

"Join the Utica Zoo as it hosts it’s 27th annual Spooktacular event from Friday, October 17th through Sunday the 19th.

The event takes place at the Utica Zoo from 6 to 9PM on Friday & Saturday with a less scary day on Sunday from 12-4PM. The zoo will open at noon instead of 10am on Sunday the 19th to set up for the event.

This year we welcome back the Haunted Hall and Forest of Fear Hayride with brand new themes to keep you on your toes! On Sunday the 19th we celebrate all the Fall season has to offer with continued Trick-o-Treat stations as well as kiddie games and other entertainment for the littlest ghouls and goblins. The Autumn Avenue will also be returning featuring arts, crafts, and baked goods from across the state.

Zoo admission for the event is $3.00 for everyone with only infants at no charge (sorry, no membership discounts for this event.) & additional fees for certain attractions. FREE parking will be at the Zoo all three days with additional parking with shuttle from the Rec Center."
