Utica Brewers To Wear Pink Jerseys Friday

Looking for something to do on a Friday night? Join The Utica Brewers Baseball Club and The Cure Baseball at Donovan Stadium to raise money for cancer awareness.

One former Utica Brewers baseball player, Alex Paluka, was a member of Utica’s 2008 team who founded this event. He’s also the founder of “The Cure Baseball,” a nonprofit organization using the sport to raise support for those battling cancer. Four years ago, Paluka raised nearly $9,000 for two local families battling the disease.

“Our organization is truly unique in taking two things, cancer and baseball, that so many people can relate to but wouldn't necessarily tie together and creating a team that everyone can cheer for.”

This Friday’s game is sponsored by the Utica Brewers and Greenscapes Garden Center, the Brewers team will wear pink jerseys against the Sherrill Silversmiths. The game is slated to start at 7:00 PM at Utica’s historical Murnane Field at Donovan Stadium.
