The team at Ubisoft Monpellier recently flashed a beautiful piece of concept art, indicating that Beyond Good and Evil 2 is on the studio's list of future endeavors.

According to Eurogamer, Michel Ancel, the creator of Rayman and Beyond Good and Evil, teased fans with a stunning piece of Beyond Good and Evil 2 artwork. This large photo of concept art was flashed onscreen during a livestream that featured Ubisoft Monpellier playing Rayman Legends on PlayStation 4 and was broadcasted on Twitch. During the livestream, Ancel and other members of his Ubisoft Montpellier team answered fan questions from the Twitch chat as they played Rayman Legends. One of these questions, of course, involved Beyond Good & Evil 2's current status.

"Working on Rayman Legends was a nice holiday," Ancel replied and teased. "We're going to make serious games [now], man. And Beyond Good & Evil 2 would be a good candidate for a serious game..."

Towards the end of the stream, Ancel showed off Jade's new design which the team is intending to use in Beyond Good and Evil 2. Jade's new design is notably similar to how the character looked in the 2008 teaser trailer for Beyond Good and Evil 2.

"It was not the time when we worked on it before, it was too ambitious, honestly," Ancel concluded. "And this is the game that we want to do at the right time. So now that we have the right team and the right tools, this would be a good time to do it."

This hints that Ubisoft Montpellier worked on Rayman titles during the meantime so that they could get their hands on next-gen hardware to help make Beyond Good and Evil 2 worth the wait and as massive as it could possibly be. Ancel also mentioned that many higher-ups at Ubisoft have made it clear that they all want Beyond Good and Evil 2 to eventually happen.
