Twinkies Going Bye-bye Just Ultimately A Publicity Stunt?
Hostess is going out of business still, but it’s a pretty safe bet that someone will pay boo-coo bucks to snatch up the name and the recipe, if you had the dough wouldn’t you use it to make the Twinkie rise again?
…with high brand recognition and $2.5 billion in revenue per year, other companies are interested in bidding for at least pieces of Hostess. Twinkies alone have brought in $68 million in revenue so far this year, which would look good to another snack-maker.
Similar to our Wal-Mart story, this one began with disgruntled workers but has ended with the Hostess forced to fold it’s hand completely. But this is encouraging news that we’ll still likely see our goodies on shelves. But what has happened in the meantime since the company said they can’t stand the heat in the oven anymore?
$3, 000?!? I doubt that seller will see that three grand, but people for both sentimental reasons and because they see dollar signs have been snatching up everything Hostess like mad and scalping/buying them on eBay for upwards of $25 per box!! Davy Jones bought the last Zingers in the snack machine here and is holding it hostage for a hefty 1000% inflation! Gosh, guess I’ll just stick to the other zillion snacks I like to eat for now till these come back, which their surely bound to!
