Top Songs Not To Listen To On A Date- These Songs Won’t Give You Romance

Dating can be stressful in this day and age.  You have to pick the right place to go, you have to wear the right outfit and you have to keep food out of your teeth all night.  This is why I am pretty glad that those days are behind me, however, even if you are married, you have to use good judgment when picking the music for your evening. But if you are on a first date, you have to play a good first song in the car to supplement the awkward silence. Here are songs you should not play on a date whether it’s your first date or one hundred and first date:

1.  “Who Let the Dog’s Out?” – Although a fun song, not one that I would recommend while on a date.  This one is definitely an interactive song that you play for and with your friends.  Definitely not a get to know you song.  You also don’t want to give her the idea that she is a dog, whether she is or isn’t.

2.  Ricky Martin’s “She Bangs”.  Ugh!  Do you remember William Hung, and his attempt at this song on ‘American Idol’.  Yeah, didn’t go well for him and I definitely don’t recommend it on a date.

3.  MC Hammer’s “Can’t Touch This” – Remember when you just couldn’t get away from this song?  Now that we are “away” from it, let’s try to keep it that way.

4.  Kanye West’s “Gold Digger” – Bad for both parties. If the guy plays it, he’s telling you he’s cheap; if the girl plays it, she’s the subject of the song.

5.  Ted Nugent’s “Cat Scratch Fever” – Doesn’t exactly spell romance.  Unless, of course, sado-masochism is your thing.

6.  The Commodore’s “Brick House” – Cuz she’s a Brick House, is not exactly the message you want to convey on a date, even if she did play middle linebacker on her high school football team.

7.  Billy Ray Cyrus – “Achy Breaky Heart” – Nuff said.

Any songs performed by a wookie probably will not spell romance for you either.  Of course this list is not all inclusive, I’m sure there are many more out there spanning several different genres.  I would love to hear your thoughts.  Any song that maybe I missed.  I would love to hear about personal experiences.
