Top 5 Gun Control Memes [Opinion]
December 26, 2012 3:12 PM Usually the memes I post are funny but this medium can also be meant to delve into more serious or controversial topics and in the midst of this rash of shootings that seem to be happening and in light of the call for tighter gun control, I found these memes to be thought-provoking.
So, while tighter gun control will definitely help keep psychos from getting their hands on guns, it seems kind of like treating a cough instead of curing what is really causing the cough in the first place. Another analogy that comes to mind is that locking your car door will deter many would-be car thieves from the easy score, but if someone really wants to get into your car, they’re gonna do it. Not that we’re supposed to do nothing, but maybe we can bark up other trees too in addition to the public outcry for gun control. A spokesperson for the NRA was heard saying that the only truly effective way to fight bad guys with guns is to have good guys with guns. I don’t know about that one, seems like a vicious cycle although the logic appears to work at first glance. What do you think?
