Microsoft has unveiled that the Xbox One version of Titanfall was March's number-one selling game.

Yusuf Mehdi, Xbox's corporate vice president of marketing, strategy and business, announced on the Xbox Wire that Titanfall on Xbox One topped national sales charts for the month of March according to NPD sales numbers. These estimates show that Xbox sells an average of 2.9 games along with each Xbox One sold. Mehdi noted that Xbox One has sold over 311,000 consoles for the month of March in the United States (Venture Beat reports that PlayStation 4 sold roughly over 370,000 consoles for the same month). Given that March was the debut of Titanfall, which was released on Xbox One and PC, these are the highest Xbox One sales numbers we have seen since the console's debut.

Combining Xbox 360 and Xbox One software sales, Xbox claims it has sold the most games across all platforms with 4.1 million Xbox games sold, with Xbox One selling 1.4 million titles in March combined with the 360's 2.7 million. While Titanfall on Xbox One led the sales charts for the month of March, Infamous: Second Son was right behind it as a PS4 exclusive. Nonetheless, March has proven to be a hot month for next-gen gaming, and we can't wait to see the results of what April will bring now the dust has started to settle for Infamous and Titanfall.
