Think back to the days when you had the privilege of eating in the school cafeteria.  Remember?  Do you recall the jokes that were tossed around about how bad the food was?  What’s the mystery meat of the day?  I think we even pondered the thought that there very well could be road kill in our school lunches.  Well, there are some students at a school in Kentucky that apparently have worse than you did or could ever imagine.  Listen to this…

A student at this school, claims to have found maggots baked into her baked potato, and it wasn’t the first time something like this happened.  Other students claim to have been served moldy potatoes and green meat.

Wait, did some experiments from the school’s science lab somehow end up in the cafeteria?  Eeee!!!   Just some kids ranting about school lunches, as usual?  Nope.  School officials are not denying that it happened and seem to be looking into the situation to ensure it doesn’t continue to happen:  the Italian wraps that contained the rotten meat have been removed from the menu, the potatoes are apparently being individually inspected, and the school is looking for a new vendor.  Good idea, right?

Do your kids complain about the school lunches?  Have you ever checked out the lunches in your kid’s school cafeteria.  I haven’t heard of any reports of this sort in our area, but I feel it is a good idea for us to know what our kids our consuming in the form of hot lunch at school.

A couple of times per week, my kids will brown bag it, just because they don’t care for the entrée being served, but my kids, like most, can be somewhat finicky.  Somewhat?
