As if the point hadn't been hammered into our skulls a dozen or so times by now (in some cases literally), death might come for anyone on AMC's 'The Walking Dead.' This past Sunday saw two major unexpected deaths hanging a dark cloud over the series, but one idea yet to be explored has been the resurrection of dead characters via flashback, or even dream sequences. Given the traumatizing events of "Killer Within," is there any chance we might see certain dead characters going forward?

Our stomachs are still a bit queasy from this past Sunday's episode of 'The Walking Dead,' which claimed not only the lives of criminally under-developed character T-Dog (Iron E Singleton) but also Rick's estranged wife Lori (Sarah Wayne Callies), much earlier than her character's death took place in the comic books. Still many fans wonder if flashbacks or other devices outside of "reality" could be used to resurrect the characters, if only for a brief appearance.

Collider recently posed the question to actress Sarah Wayne Callies, particularly given that the comic book character made several post-death appearances via nightmares and even in Rick's imagination on the other end of a telephone. Would Callies herself be open to such a return?

I think that question has to do with, “Does it serve the story?” I’ve always felt that Lori’s death was something very important to Rick, which drives him crazy. In the comics, part of his madness is not quite being able to shake her. If that serves the story that they’re going to tell going forward, then absolutely.

I can’t really envision a time where somebody calls me up and goes, “Hey, we wrote something for you,” and I go, “No.” I don’t quite see that happening. At the same time, we’ve taken so many departures that, if they feel it would be foolish for Rick to be seeing ghosts, I’m okay with that, too. Anything that serves the story.

Viewers will see more of Rick's reaction to Lori's death in this Sunday's upcoming episode "Say the Word," but time will tell if AMC's 'The Walking Dead' follows through on any of the book's after-death appearances.

What say you? Would you want to see Lori Grimes, or any other dead character appear on 'The Walking Dead' again?
