After last weeks season premiere of The Walking Dead many viewers wondered how they could possibly top the problems we had laid out in the first episode. Well, AMC defiantly did. This weeks episode could possibly be one of the most goriest ever witnessed by fans, and one of the most ruthless. Here's our full recap of Episode 2, “Sick”.

When we left last week we witnessed Rick cut off Hershels leg. It had to be one of the most disgusting things I've ever seen on this show. It had to be done. While the leg was being hacked off, 5 prisoners witnessed from behind a wall. Daryl ordered the five inmates to step out from behind the wall. Glenn threw Hershel on a rolling table, and the group set out through the dark halls to return Hershel to their cell block.

Back toward the entrance, the five prisoners slowly file in, while Daryl keeps his crossbow trained. The leader of the group, Tomas, claims that they’re in his cell block, but Daryl and T-Dog insist they’re no longer bound to the prison. Wondering why they wouldn’t have taken Hershel to a hospital, Tomas’ inquiry causes Rick to realize that the five men have been locked up long enough not to know how the outside world has fallen apart, and he brings them up to speed on the state of things.”

This was a turning point in the episode. It questioned viewers in wondering how these inmates could last almost 10 months without realizing what was going on in the outside world. They had no clue though. The prisoners thought Rick was a rescue party, however that was far from the truth.

Rick takes the five men out into the courtyards to see the extent of the devastation themselves, and explain that the unknown virus resides in all of them. Tomas offers up that Rick’s group can stay in a different cell block, but Rick remains steadfast that the prison belongs to them now. Reluctantly, Tomas agrees to take another cell block with his men if Rick and his armed group will help clear it out, in exchange for half their food supply.”

Makes total sense, why not take the massive food supply that exists in the prison? Rick feels it belongs to his group and he will do what ever it takes to take it. Rick will not let that prison fall to these 5 prisoners. Rick arms the inmates with weapons as they prepare to clear out a cell block. Rick tries explaining how the walkers only go down with damage to the brain, and also warns them not to use guns. Of course the prisoners think they know how to kill so they decide to break formation and use prison-style skirmish tactics to beat and stab their opponents. Now little do they know that the walkers are not falling. Thye are falling apart but not dying. The inmates fare much better in their second round against a group of walkers once they listen.

Big Tiny breaks rank and accidentally gets himself scratched by a walker’s exposed bone! In response, Tomas defies Rick’s orders, and uses a gun to finish off the attacker. Though Big Tiny protests that he feels fine even after his scratch, Rick assures the other survivors that it’s too late for the gentle giant. The inmates protest that something must be done to help their friend, but Tomas gets fed up and savagely takes the initiative to beat Tiny to death himself, silencing the others.”

Can our group of survivors take the prison?
