Apparently there's an unspoken code among ex-convicts: You don't steal from the guy you served time with. In Wichita, Kansas, a robber who helped seize a man's cell phone and wallet at gunpoint recognized the victim as an ex-convict he had served time with and so gave the possessions back. The victim told police that two young men approached him on the street, one of them brandishing a large semi-automatic handgun. The gunman demanded the victim's phone and took his wallet while the second man searched his pockets. Then the second man realized he spent some time in prison with him. He apologized, shook hands and walked away. And oddly, while the victim did indeed report the incident and told police he knew one of the robbers in prison, he also told them he didn't think he'd be able to identify the suspects in a line-up.
