Although we celebrated the 50th anniversary of The Beatles first appearance on "The Ed Sullivan Show" last Sunday night, that wasn't their first performance on American TV.

Talk show host, Jack Paar first aired a film that he shot of The Beatles performing in London, and showed it on his Friday night prime-time show on NBC on January 3, 1964, more than a month before the Sullivan show.

Granted, it wasn't a live appearance by the Fab Four, but it was the first time they performed on American television, even though they were in England at the time. Here's Jack Paar remembering that piece of film and a glimpse of the footage with the boys performing, "She Loves You". Please note that the quality of the video has a few technical glitches.
