Just weeks after a similar incident had deadly consequences for five nurses, ten women escaped unharmed from a limousine that had caught on fire on Sunday.

The Associated Press is reporting that the ladies, eight of whom were in their nineties, were on their way to celebrate the 96th birthday of a friend in Sonoma.

Passenger Mary Chapman told ABC7 News' KGO-TV reporter Tomas Roman that she saw red flames and black smoke before they were able to get out of the vehicle.

It is believed that the fire was the result of an electrical issue.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating.
