Three big movies arrive in theaters this weekend: a sequel to a 2013 horror blockbuster, an Oscar-hunting thriller and the film adaptation of a bestselling book series.
A new, full trailer for 'Horrible Bosses 2' has arrived, and in it we see just what it is that has driven our favorite bad co-workers/besties to such horrible lengths this time around: turns out, being an entrepreneur isn't as easy as you might think, and neither is kidnapping ... or, uh, "kidnaping." They're not so great at spelling, either.
This new 'Interstellar' trailer gives us our best and most clear look at the plot of Christopher Nolan's upcoming sci-fi epic, and even then, we still don't know that much about the movie. But, after watching this trailer, we wouldn't have it any other way.
The first trailer for Paul Thomas Anderson's highly anticipated 'Inherent Vice' has finally arrived online, and this is definitely not your average detective story. Based on Thomas Pynchon's 2009 novel of the same name, the film stars Joaquin Phoenix as the unorthodox detective Doc Sportello (yes, really), who gets mixed up in a convoluted and totally out-there crime tale.
As the latest 'Kingsman: The Secret Service' trailer shows, Colin Firth's Uncle Jack is a firm believer of "manners maketh man," and he's willing to teach anyone this valuable lesson...the hard way!
A24 Films released the first 'A Most Violent Year' trailer, while simultaneously announcing its official release date for December 31, officially placing it in this year's Oscar race. As the frontrunners of awards season begin to take shape, the first footage of director J.C. Chandlor's latest pegs this dark and gritty film as one to watch.
What had been a pretty slow month of September, movie-wise, is about to get a major jolt, with four new films hitting theaters this week. Here's a look at your suddenly bountiful choices:
The 'John Wick' trailer showcases what the cool kids have known and will always know: Keanu Reeves is just the best. Even when you place him in the middle of an action thriller that, on paper, sounds tired and played out, he's all you need to get our interest piqued. There is no one quite like Reeves, who has transformed his laid-back, deliberately wooden acting style into an acting style that is entirely his own.
The second full trailer for 'Horrible Bosses 2' is here, and it features some seriously amateur kidnapping maneuvers, as the guys try to put together a foolproof plan to help Chris Pine's character get revenge on his dear old dad, played by Christoph Waltz. If these guys can't even spell "kidnapping" correctly, we don't see this thing turning out very well.
Not a whole lot of action this week at cinemas, with just one new movie coming out and it isn't even getting a full, 3,000-theater release. But it is about Elvis, sort of.
The new trailer for 'The Equalizer' essentially doubles down on what the other trailers have only hinted at: this movie is all about taking weird pleasure in watching a remarkably calm Denzel Washington kill off the Russian mob. It looks nothing like the TV show it's supposedly based on, but it does look like it'll fall right in line with the bulk of Washington's modern filmography. Once again, he plays the coolest guy in the room and once again, he's a good enough actor to make it all look oh-so-easy.
