Utica, NY (WIBX) - With Hurricane Sandy bearing down on central New York, National Grid is offering a list of safety tips to customers who are preparing for possible power outages, and information on how to stay safe if you are affected.
In case you missed it -- there's a storm a-brewin'! Hurricane Sandy is lurching her way up the coast, heading for us all. Yesterday, the MTA announced it was shutting down trains in NYC at 7 pm and buses at 9pm. October 29, 2012 You've probably heard at least a dozen or so stories about Hurricane Sandy by now. I'm betting you haven't heard a story like this. This is one the government may not want you to hear. Did the HAARP Project cause Hurricane Sandy? Many conspiracy theorist believe the United States government caused Hurricane Sandy.
It appears to be a foregone conclusion that New Jersey will bear the brunt of Hurricane Sandy as the storm is forecast to make landfall somewhere north of Cape May. The current storm track puts the eye of the storm directly over Central New York later this week.

Hurricane Sandy is shaping up to be a storm of historic proportions. Power companies from across the United States are converging on the Northeast Coast to help restore electric services following the onslaught of the storm.

NASA has provided some compelling images of the extremely large Hurricane Sandy as it skirts the Atlantic Coast of the United States.
Hurricane Sandy is mere hours away from the Northeast Coast and chances are, if you're out now, you'll be riding out the storm where you are. Subway, commuter railroad and bus services have been suspended in major metropolitan areas across the region.
As Hurricane Sandy bears down on the northeast, the lines that bring cable television, as well as phone and internet service, may be brought down by high winds. Time Warner Cable has provided the following advice should your cable go out.
