Lets go back in time 36 years ago. If you were up in Lake Placid, you were enjoying the 1980 Winter Olympics. Specifically if you chose to go back to February 22nd 1980, you could witness the Miracle On Ice.

Adrianna West is a 6-year-old Utica College Pioneers Men's Hockey fan and she unfortunately was hit in the head with a puck while at a game over the weekend. Well, 18 stitches later she is recovering well and she got a special surprise!

After a truly historic season last year, The Utica Comets begin regular season play on the road tonight against the Rochester Americans. This team has done so much for the City of Utica, but it also has been great for their parent club, The Vancouver Canucks. To show thanks and support for this AHL team and it's fans, a documentary was created by the Canucks.

Tickets to these games are the hottest in town and because of the demand for season tickets, there are only about 500 seats per game for sale on an individual basis. One of the most popular Comets is moving on to the NHL! Unfortunately, Brandon Defazio has joined Cal O'Reilly and Bobby Sanguinetti, among others, on the list of players who will not return to Utica next season. This is yet another tough dismantling announcement for our boys in blue and green and Defazio's presence will most definitely be missed.

With the Utica Comets going all the way to the Calder Cup Finals this year, their season extended into June, which makes the off-season much shorter. Before you know it, it will be time for the preseason and another exciting season for our hometown heroes. This year the Comets vs. Crunch rivalry is going to begin on foreign soil!
