Syracuse Knocks Off Top Ranked Louisville

Michael Carter Williams scored nine of his 16-points down the stretch to lead the No. 6 Syracuse Orange to a 70-68 win over the nation’s No.1 ranked team, Louisville, on Saturday.
Carter Williams’ was just 4-13 from the field, but had a superb all around game: seven assists, four rebounds, two blocks and four steals – including a steal and fast-break dunk with under thirty seconds remaining to give ‘Cuse a 69-68 lead.
Brandon Triche scored 23 on 9-13 shooting, including 5-7 from long range. C.J. Fair and Jerami Smith each added ten for the Orange who moved to 17-1 overall and 5-0 in the Big East.
The Cardinals (16-2, 4-1 Big East) had just one player in double digits – Russ Smith’s 23. Wayne Blackshear and Chane Behanan each scored nine, and Montrezl Harrel had eight.
Syracuse heads home for a meeting with Cincinnati on Monday at 3:30.
