“Smokin’” Joe Frazier Dies

Former heavyweight boxing champion, “Smokin’” Joe Frazier, past away yesterday. Frazier, who was diagnosed with liver cancer, was 67. Frazier won a gold medal for the U.S at the 1964 Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo. Frazier would retire from professional boxing 12 years later with a healthy record of 32-4-1. His name and boxing legacy is forever tied to Muhammed Ali who he fought 3 times including the Thrilla in Manila. Ali was one of the first to comment on hearing the news of Frazier’s death:

“I will always remember Joe with respect and admiration,” Ali said in a statement. “My sympathy goes out to his family and loved ones.” – Yahoo.com
