With a seven-game road trip staring them in the face, Friday night's game against the Toronto Maple Leafs was a must-win game for the struggling Buffalo Sabres. Even after a defeat earlier in the week against the Leafs, Buffalo pulled it off last night and won.

The Sabres entered the night 11th in the East, and even with last night’s win, they remain five points behind Washington for the final playoff berth. But with their next seven games on the road, this was a win they had to have. The team needs to keep this momentum going out on the road in hopes to salvage their season.

Our Sabres got off to a quick start, scoring twice in less than four minutes. Matt Ellis and Paul Gaustad had first-period goals for the Sabres, and Ryan Miller stopped 24 shots helping the Sabres lead to victory.

"It wasn't our best game, so it was nice to be able to get that one," Right wing Jason Pominville said “It was fun to see guys keep their composure. We're not going through the stretch we would want, but we were playing well."
