After days of teasing, the new 'RoboCop' trailer has hit the web, featuring stars Michael Keaton, Gary Oldman, Samuel L. Jackson and, of course, RoboCop himself, Joel Kinnaman.

Director José Padilha introduced the 'RoboCop' trailer over at Yahoo Movies, and, as he told the crowd at San Diego Comic-Con this year, this remake of the 1980s original is his way of addressing the topic of technological warfare. In the film, the year is 2028 and the nation is divided over this issue, with conglomerate OmniCorp manufacturing drones and military robots.

[UPDATE: We've added the new 'RoboCop' poster below.]

From the official synopsis:

In RoboCop, the year is 2028 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. Overseas, their drones have been used by the military for years - and it's meant billions for OmniCorp's bottom line. Now OmniCorp wants to bring their controversial technology to the home front, and they see a golden opportunity to do it. When Alex Murphy (Joel Kinnaman) - a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit - is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp sees their chance for a part-man, part-robot police officer. OmniCorp envisions a RoboCop in every city and even more billions for their shareholders, but they never counted on one thing: there is still a man inside the machine pursuing justice.

Fans have been pretty divided over the idea of a 'RoboCop' remake, but, aside from the underwhelming first poster for the affair, the visual effects and stunts look pretty well crafted. If anything, we're looking forward to such lines, no matter how cheesy, as, "Dead or alive, you're coming with me," or how about 'Boardwalk Empire' star Michael K. Williams' line, "Bad cop, RoboCop"? Although, we could do without all the "robophobia."

The 'RoboCop' remake also features Abbie Cornish, Jackie Earl Haley, Jennifer Ehle and Jay Baruchel. The film is slated for release on February 12, 2014.
