Retro TV- All In The Family

This was a show that when the pilot first aired, the network and cast felt that it would never make it on the air as a series.When the show first aired it was during the summertime of 1968 . CBS had a lot of extra people manning the switchboard to field all the complaints. The phone lines did light up but it was not people complaining it was people wanting to know when the show would be on again. It became a huge success. Archie Bunker became a household name. The show ran from 1968- 1979.
