Leaked images from Resident Evil Revelations 2 suggest that we'll be playing as Claire Redfield and Moira Burton in the series' anticipated return to survival horror.

Push-Start has provided leaked images from GamesMaster magazine (provided below) and details about the upcoming sequel to Resident Evil Revelations. Originally found by a user on Capcom-Unity's message boards, Resident Evil Revelations 2 will star an older Claire Redfield and Moira, the daughter of Barry Burton from the first Resident Evil. It is rumored that the game will take place between RE 5 and 6 and will strongly tie-in to its predecessor. Of course, the first Revelations had multiple playable characters, so we have a feeling we'll be playing as other characters throughout its sequel as well.

Earlier this week, we posted Resident Evil Revelations 2's teaser trailer. In the trailer, you could see the following picture of a person wearing a TerraSave shirt (on the left side of the screen), which was the human rights group Claire Redfield worked for in the CGI movie, 'Resident Evil: Degeneration.'

Combined with the provided screenshots below, this pretty much confirms that Claire Redfield is returning as the playable protagonist of Resident Evil Revelations 2. Since Moira Burton is her companion, there will be both co-op and single-player gameplay similar to what we have seen before. Claire's gameplay will be more combat-oriented, while Moira will provide support, such as healing, providing light sources, etc. We have a feeling Moira will not be using guns and you will have to play as her in combat-less segments similar to Sherry Birkin's gameplay in Resident Evil 2, which can be terrifying if done correctly.

These photos help corroborate the idea that Revelations 2 will take place on an abandoned island detention facility. This marks the second prison island Claire visits throughout Resident Evil (for those who remember Code Veronica). We're glad to say that this game will be focusing on survival horror and will avoid the over-the-top action plaguing much of Resident Evil 5 and 6.

As with the teaser trailer, Revelations 2 will focus on people who are afflicted with some sort of new virus, which will have them start looking like zombies, but grow into a different bio-organic weapon entirely. It is likely this could build into the strange B.O.W.s we saw throughout RE 6.

Resident Evil Revelations 2 will launch sometime in 2015 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One and Xbox 360. The PC and current-gen versions will likely run at 1080p and 60 fps. Stay tuned as we'll provide up-to-date coverage on Revelations 2 once more information is available.

Given the first Revelations' focus on horror, we're sure this Resident Evil will be creepy.
