As rumors of a Kinks reunion continue gaining momentum, frontman Ray Davies has announced dates for the first leg of a U.S. fall solo tour.

The headlining trek kicks off Nov. 1 in Atlanta, and is scheduled to touch down in a total of 11 cities through a Nov. 23 gig in Boston. These dates encompass the eastern half of the United States; a second leg, to be announced shortly, is expected to take Davies out west.

The jaunt will be preceded by an Oct. 30 set at New Orleans’ Voodoo Experience 2011 festival. Cheap Trick, Violent Femmes singer Gordon Gano and the Original Meters are among the other acts on the lineup of Voodoo Experience, which runs Oct. 28-30 in the Crescent City’s City Park.

Davies and his brother, Kinks singer Dave Davies, reportedly were scheduled to meet earlier this year to discuss the possibility of a what could be a very profitable Kinks reunion. Both brothers had seemed open to setting aside their very public differences for an onstage reconciliation, although no news seems to have come from the meeting.

But no news is better than bad news. For years, Ray and Dave refused to even consider it, with Dave once remarking a reunion “would be like a bad remake of ‘ Night of the Living Dead.’” So let’s just say it’s something that’s not not going to happen.
