Prince Harry Returns From Afghanistan Where He Was Deployed As An Apache Helicopter Pilot

Prince Harry seems to have come a long way since his naked billiards game before he was deployed to Afghanistan and now he’s on his way back after killing Taliban insurgents in his spiffy Apache attack helicopter…

He became known as ‘Captain Wales’ during his tour of duty and was the co-pilot/gunner of a helicopter that guys over here would kill to fly (no pun intended)!

A member of the air corps’ 662 Squadron, the prince was part of a two-man crew whose duties ranged from supporting ground troops in firefights with the Taliban to accompanying British Chinook and U.S. Black Hawk helicopters as they evacuated wounded soldiers.

This is actually his second tour after his first was cut short when the media reported his wherabouts so he retrained as a chopper pilot in order to rejoin as ‘one of the guys’ and try to escape his royalty status somewhat.

“My father’s always trying to remind me about who I am and stuff like that,” said Harry, the younger son of Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana. “But it’s very easy to forget about who I am when I am in the army. Everyone’s wearing the same uniform and doing the same kind of thing.”

His brother also flies choppers too, but in a search and rescue capacity for the Royal Air Force. The powers that be don’t want the boys in too much danger, and they’d both rather be on the ground mixing it up with the soldiers instead of getting preferential treatment. But now that Harry is back, he’s also back in the news and we’re sure to hear more about this guy who was voted along with George Clooney as two of the most eligible bachelors around. Chicks dig a dude in uniform, much less one that flies so I hate to tell ya Harry, you might’ve been safer back in Afghanistan!
