Good afternoon folks, I know Halloween is still a few days away, but it is never too soon to throw out some reminders about how pets and Halloween mix.  In case you weren’t aware, Halloween is the second most common day that pets get lost.  First is the Fourth of July.  So why is that?

Think about it.  For many households, the front door is opened several times in the span of an evening, which gives our furry friends ample opportunity to make a break for it.  If you have a Terrier, like your host here, they are exactly that…terriers which means territorial, which means beware to any who they may mistake for an intruder into “their” house.

It is very important to have current and updated ID on your pet’s collar.  Either that or have a microchip.

Another thing…make sure Halloween candy is far out of reach of your pet.  We all know how chocolate and dogs get along…or don’t get along.

Also, for those who feel the need to dress their pet up in their own Halloween costume, be aware of small parts that could be easily ingested by your pet.

Hopefully this Halloween will be safe and enjoyable for all…including our furry friends.
