Paramount Pictures has released the first trailer for its Latino spinoff film to the 'Paranormal Activity' horror franchise, titled 'Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones.' If you were expecting anything less than the jumps and "things flying at the camera" antics from the others, turn back now.

While we wait for 'Paranormal Activity 5' to hit theaters October 24, 2014, get ready to meet 'The Marked Ones.' Where previously we knew that this spinoff film would feature an entirely Latino cast and focus on a Catholic inquiry into, well, some paranormal activity, the first trailer reveals there are some possessing-happy spirits -- those who are marked with a bite-like scar play host to a fearsome and superpowered entity.

The theme of 'The Marked Ones' was first teased at the very end of 'Paranormal Activity 4,' which depicted a scene inside a bodega with some sufficient creepiness on display. Thanks to market research, Paramount is using this spinoff as a platform to capitalize on the growing number of Latino horror fans.

Christopher Landon, writer and producer of multiple 'Paranormal Activity' films, is at the helm of 'The Marked Ones,' which stars Richard Cabral, Carlos Pratts and David Fernandez Jr. The film is set to hit theaters, as is the growing trend with horror films, not in October, but on January 3, 2014.
