Scoop Jardine's 15 points and four assists helped the second-ranked Orange past the University of South Florida, 56-48 on Wednesday at the Carrier Dome.

The Bulls' trailed the entire second half but pulled to within three, at 47-44, with just under five minutes to play. Jardine responded with a drive to the lane, scoring and drawing a foul to make it 50-44.

Syracuse improved to 28-1 on the season, and 15-1 in conference play with just two regular season match-ups remaining - a visit to Connecticut on Saturday and a Carrier Dome season-ending game versus No. 17 Louisville the following Saturday.

Once again 'Cuse was able to win while coming up short on the glass. USF out-rebounded the Orange 39-30.

Kris Joseph had nine of boards, and a dozen points, with C.J. fair adding 13 points and six boards.

Anthony Collins led South Florida's offense with 12 points on 6-of-7 shooting from the field.
