When "The Great New York State Fair" opens on August 21st, a new official state fair beer will start pouring: "State Fair Showstopper Ale". Here's more about the new brew.

According to nysfair.org:

"Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced that the Great New York State Fair will launch its own fair-branded line of New York-brewed craft beer, known as “State Fair Showstopper Ale.” The Ale will be made in part from New York hops and barley products and brewed by Empire Brewing Company of Syracuse.

“The Great New York State Fair deserves a great beverage to represent it, and this craft beer is a perfect fit,” Governor Cuomo said.

Showstopper Ale will be on tap at the Great New York State Fair in Syracuse, which runs from August 21 to September 1. Visitors of legal drinking age can enjoy it at the new Taste NY Wine, Beer and Spirits Bar at the Colonnade and widely throughout the Fairgrounds.

David Katleski, President of Empire Brewing Company and President of the New York State Brewers Association, said, “Empire’s NYS Fair Showstopper Ale was created based on our award winning and best selling Skinny Atlas Light Ale recipe. This NYS hybrid utilizes local ingredients like pure Skaneateles Lake water, malted barley and hops and our proprietary yeast to produce a light and refreshing Kolsh-style ale. It truly is a Showstopper.”
