Just because the artists we cover on Oldiez 96 have been around for decades doesn't mean they're down and out and many are still putting out new music or compilations. Each Tuesday we're going to highlight the new efforts of these music veterans and here's a snapshot of what's going on in the classic genre for the week:

If you know any KISS fans, they're some of the most fanatical and loyal you'll ever meet and if you've seen some of the shrines these fans cook up, it's insane! So, to their delight their rock gods have put out their 20th studio album spanning of 40 years of rocking our faces off. I half-expected the CD to shoot flames upon opening it!

I was introduced to these guys as a boy watching Olivia Newton John in Xanadu (the soundtrack of which actually exists on my iPhone as we speak) and years later figured out that it was these guys that brought that movie to life aurally. Just in case you thought Transiberian was the only orchestra, here are the maestros themselves with a Greatest Hits compilation

This is the companion CD to their 50th Anniversary DVD which was released back in August and chronicles over half a century worth of music making and music history making and these guys have reunited for one last time to bring those lush harmonies back to our attention. It's their first album in 20 years and the DVD even includes footage of Good Vibrations recording sessions never before seen. Check it out!

Well, this isn't music but the guy who invented the windmill guitar-style playing (which he really stole from Keith Richards) has finally released his memoir 46 years after he planned to, but what do you really know at 21? Those are some interesting facts that he talks about in his new book along with wanting to call his band 'The Hair' instead (imagine THAT)! Sounds like an interesting read!
