New Music Tuesday (11/13) – Rolling Stones, ‘Grrr!’ & More…

The Stones are still kicking (how I’ll never know) and here comes their latest release just in time for their upcoming handful of dates and for the holidays. Will this be their last? The Beatles full record collection and efforts by Deep Purple and Peter Framton are also included in this week’s spotlight…

The Rolling Stones – ‘Grrr!’ (released Nov 13)

Amazon.com

50 years after the band was born, the Stones are still rolling and have put out a Grrr(eatest) Hits effort to go along with their upcoming tour. That’s right, these guys are nearly 70 years old and have been at it since they were teenagers and they don’t seem to be anywhere near losing steam and of course we all would love to have move like Jagger even at half his age! They’re hinting that this is their ‘one last shot’ but if Magic Johnson and Michael Jordan can retire umpteen times, maybe these guys will jam till they drop! This release includes 3 CD’s of their most beloved material, so strap yourself in, put the headphones on and take a trip back in time.

The Beatles – ‘The Beatles Stereo Vinyl Boxed Set’ (released Nov 13)

Amazon.com

At last, if you don’t already, you can have the entire 14-album Beatles collection in vinyl, complete and newly remastered. All of their classic records have been beautifully remastered using the most meticulous vinyl mastering processes which you can read more about here. Imagine pulling those records from their sleeves like the old days and throwing them on your record player. I’d be interested to see how different they are from the originals. Well, now you can perform the test, for a cool $320! Check out the video if you’re not sold already…

Deep Purple – ‘Last Concert In Japan’ (released Nov 13)

Amazon.com

This is a rare disc of their last recorded international show that has never before been released in the U. S. until now! It all went down in Japan (obviously) back in 1976. This is a limited edition and like most re-releases of old albums these days has been remastered to sound perfect on your speakers. There’s nothing like a live show and I miss the organ stylings of the late John Lord. Take a listen:

Peter Framton – ‘Best of FCA! 35 Tour’ (released Nov 13)

Amazon.com

Do you feel like he does? Last year Peter celebrated the 35th anniversary of ‘Frampton Comes Alive‘ by touring the world. Most concerts were recorded and Peter himself meticulously went through all of the performance tracks of each of these songs and chose what he feels is the best live recording of each. The classic album is also included as part of the set and if you’d live to see this most recent tour, you can grab the Blu-ray here. Meanwhile, here’s a clip of the show:
