A slew of new screenshots from Madden NFL 15 have been released on EA’s Facebook page today.

Along with the previously shown Colin Kapernick image, 26 new stills from EA’s upcoming annual football appeared today, presenting gorgeous in-game shots from several division rivalry matchups. Highlighted players include Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch, Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly, Patriots running back Stevan Ridley, Vikings running back Adrian Peterson and Broncos linebacker Von Miller. Two rookies, Minnesota’s C.J. Mosley and Cleveland’s Johnny Manziel, are included, making their first video game appearances.

Due to the move to new-gen consoles, last year’s Madden NFL 25 represented a huge leap forward in visuals for the series. Based on these screenshots, this year’s iteration will improve the graphics even further. Players’ faces and equipment look amazingly detailed, and even Marshawn Lynch’s hair, shown jutting from the back of his helmet while he leaps over two 49ers, looks right; a rare achievement for any game. While these are just still images, players in motion look natural, suggesting smooth, lifelike animations. EA has been known to pump up early images from Madden games in the past, presenting screens that look better than the actual final product, but early footage of the game has looked equally fantastic, suggesting that Madden 15 is shaping up to be a visually stunning football sim.

We've gathered a dozen images from the release below, but even more can be found on Madden's Facebook page. Madden NFL 15 is scheduled for an Aug. 26 release on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.
