Last week, we heard a surprising-if-unreliable rumor that David Lynch's legendary spookfest 'Twin Peaks' was being eyed for a revival on NBC, to either pick up where things left off on a season 2 cliffhanger, or bring the story into the modern day. The rumors of a 'Twin Peaks' revival seem largely to have been de-bunked, but has the rumor now inspiried actual development from NBC? New 'Twin Peaks' scoop inside!

'Twin Peaks' fans may not have to live with Agent Dale Cooper's possession by Killer BOB for eternity after all. Even though last week's rumor of an NBC revival in the works proved not to be true, co-creator Mark Frost addressing the gossip over Twitter by saying "Dear Internet: You are very good at spreading rumors. Truth is more valuable and much harder to come by. Sincerely yours, @mfrost11," hope is not yet lost.

Reporters posed questions to NBC executives at the Television Critics Association press tour, who admitted to being inspired by the idea. NBC Entertainment President Jennifer Salke said of the revival's potential:

I called everybody when I got the email. None of us had gotten a call about that, not from an agent, not from the writer, not the head of drama...so we’re wondering the same thing you are.

When it came up we all looked at each other and said, ‘That’s a good idea.’ We were all kind of like, 'Hmm, we like Twin Peaks!' So, I’ll send some emails today, and see what I can get to come in.

It wouldn't be the first time internet rumor inspired Hollywood to make something happen, so what do you think? Could 'Twin Peaks' really have a shot at a revival after all? Give us your take in the comments!
