Elton John and his partner, David Furnish, are working on a biopic on John's life. "Rocketman" will document the ups and downs of John's life and career through musical arrangements. "Rocketman" is being described as:

“a biographical musical fantasy that will weave together John’s life and his music” and will be told in “a non-linear and hyper-visual manner.” - Idolator.com

John is teaming up with Lee Hall to write "Rocketman". The two worked together on the Tony winning musical "Billy Elliot". With the script prepared, the pair are looking for a director for the project and who will play Elton:

No actor has yet to be cast as the music man – who do you see playing Elton John? Justin Timberlake might not be such a far-fetched choice, since he already played the singer in the video for “This Train Don’t Stop There Anymore.” - Idolator.com

No timetable has been set for the release of "Rocketman".
