‘Monster’ California Wildfire Pictures And Videos As It Heads Towards Malibu
Last week I got to enjoy a nice long week in California. Seeing the sights and taking in the beauty was just an experience I hope everyone gets to have at least once in their life. However, since I’ve been home, the landscape has changed. A ‘Monster’ California Wildfire has head towards the coast, and now it’s heading towards Malibu. We have some pictures and video to share.
According to NBC News, the so-called Springs Fire has become worse due to the Santa Ana winds and unusually dry vegetation. The fire was within “seven or eight miles” of Malibu at 2 a.m. local time (5 a.m. ET).
Ventura County Fire Department spokesman Bill Nash said.:
“We’ve got hot, dirty, unglamorous firefighting work going on right now, guys with shovels trying to scratch out lines on the ground,” Nash said early Friday. “We’ve got those guys on these steep hillsides in the dark with nothing but the light of the fire and a flashlight.”
At least an eight-mile stretch of the Pacific Coast Highway has been shut down as crews battle the flames. Evacuations have taken place on Thursday, and continue through today. For more details from NBC News click here.
“Fire still going so far 6500 acres burned 0% contained with 25 mph winds toward the base”
The base he’s referring to is the Naval Base in Ventura County. This is where Loboda and many others live and work from day to day.
The picture at the top had the following caption:
230am and the fire is coming over the mountain at a pretty good rate of speed hopefully they will stop it before it hits the base”
We will keep you updated with more details.
