When the Monkees announced they were canceling the remaining tour dates on their 45th anniversary tour speculation about infighting and drug abuse began circulating as the primary reason behind the announcement. Of course it didn't help that the band offered no reason for the cancellation. Now we apparently we know what happened. TMZ spoke with a representative for Monkee Mickey Dolenz who told them:

"Management had booked a number of dates with the venues without running them by the group first ... so we had to cancel the remaining dates. It has nothing to do with any sort of substance abuse whatsoever." TMZ.com

TMZ did attempt to get the other side of the story and talk with the person who booked the dates for the group without consulting with them. However when TMZ contacted the company for the interview they were informed that the person in question no longer works for the company.
