The speculation of who would be performing the halftime show at this year's Super Bowl is over. During the "Sunday Night Football" matchup between the Saints and Lions the NFL and NBC announced that Madonna will be performing the halftime show at Super Bowl XLVI...that's 46 for those of us not good with Roman numerals. The material girl has already put together a team to design her half time performance:

Madonna will reportedly partner with a creative team from Cirque du Soleil, multimedia artists from Moment Factory and choreographer Jamie King to put her unique imprint on the halftime show.  - Billboard.com

It has been rumored that Madonna's performance will coincide with the release of her 12th studio album which is due out in the early part of 2012. Super Bowl XLVI will be played February 5th, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
