In perhaps an attempt to teach the hipsters a thing or two about classic American songwriting, John Fogerty will perform at this year's SXSW. The concert will take place at the ACL Moody Theatre in Austin, Texas on Saturday, March 16.

Fogerty will be promoting his upcoming album, 'Wrote a Song for Everyone,' which features the perpetually plaid-shirted rock legend revisiting his extensive catalog in duet form. Joining him are many top acts from the rock and country worlds, including Bob Seger, My Morning Jacket and Keith Urban. 'Wrote a Song for Everyone' will be available May 28.

The headlining slot will be Fogerty's second appearance at the prestigious conference. On Thursday, March 14, he will appear with Dave Grohl's all-star project Sound City Players. Grohl's day job, Foo Fighters, performed 'Fortunate Son' with Fogerty on 'Wrote a Song for Everyone.'

This past Tuesday (March 5) Fogerty, Grohl and the Sound City Players stopped by ABC's 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' to perform 'Fortunate Son.' The video is embedded below.
