Jimi Hendrix's ever-expanding collection of posthumous albums continues to grow.

The latest release, 'Live in Cologne,' collects recordings culled from the Jimi Hendrix Experience's 1969 performance at the Sporthalle in (you guessed it) Cologne, Germany. The twelfth in a series of "official bootlegs" released by Dagger Records, it's scheduled for release July 9.

It will come as no surprise to even the most casual Hendrix fan that the Sporthalle show, which took place on January 13, 1969, has already been widely bootlegged; in fact, recordings are immediately and easily available to anyone capable of performing their own internet search. But Dagger's release, which is being issued via Authentic Hendrix, still adds about as much to the posthumous Experience experience as a collector could legitimately expect.

'Live in Cologne' is being issued on 180-gram vinyl with digital download, although the label cautions that the recording "was not drawn from professionally recorded masters but instead an amateur, monophonic audience recording. As a result, the recording is not without various technical flaws and sonic limitations." The whole package, which Authentic Hendrix is billing as a web exclusive, is being offered for $24.98.
