James Taylor Is Bob Cratchit
James Taylor has agreed to play the role of Bob Cratchit in a New England theater company's annual production of "A Christmas Carol". This is a first for the legandary singer who will make his stage debut with his hometown Berkshire Theater Group in Massachusetts. Despite his lack of experience, the theater groups believes Taylor is the right choice:
"I think he's perfect for the role," co-director Eric Hill told the Berkshire Eagle. "Cratchit is a natural, self-effacing character, humble, very unassuming and gentle, trying to find the right path through difficult challenges. James seems to have a natural instinct for such situations." - UPI.com
The singer won't be the only Taylor on stage for the production. Taylor's wife Kim will play Mrs. Cratchit, which only seems right, and 10-year-old sons Rufus and Henry will have supporting roles. The 11 performances begin December 17th at the Colonial Theater in Pittsfield.
